Welcome to Brushed Beginnings !

I’m Aja (ASIA), the artist and owner behind the brand. I am a multi-faceted artist, with a newly found specialty in capturing the new life being brought into this world !

As a mother figure to three of my siblings and with three children of my own, my nurturing nature permeates through my art. Each stroke of the brush embodies the love and tenderness I hold for the lives yet to be born. I create one-of-a kind ultrasound art with your images that you can treasure forever, whether you want to commemorate a pregnancy, celebrate a new baby, honor a memory of an angel baby, or even the exciting moments of an embryo forming !

Through Brushed Beginnings, I invite clients to join me in creating life anew through my artistry. I would be honored to capture these wonderful memories for you!

My Story

I currently have 12 years in the medical field, I have a passion to help people and create beautiful things that just make people feel good. My journey as an artist began in 2017 as I searched for a therapeutic outlet for myself. I was always artistic but never seen it as something I could make a career; coming from a childhood with limited opportunities I didn’t see it being an option. I started doing art shows in 2017 sharing my work and realized people really do love art as much as I do ! I like to consider myself multi-faceted; being able to offer a little bit of everything, as I create everything from abstract paintings to murals to dog portraits. I began my business as Toro Perceptions Art, while I do still have this business I am finding my niche with artful sonograms; while allowing me to create freely in other aspects of my art.

I had my first son at 17 and didn’t think I could have more children. 10 years later I was surprised with my baby boy and then quickly my baby girl thereafter; my midwife took such amazing care of me I wanted to share my gratitude with her through art. I started with these ultrasound keepsakes to be displayed in her exam rooms and was simply obsessed with the outcome. Before I knew it, I was making them for friends, baby shower gifts and it grew into a passion to bring those tear jerking, heart felt keepsakes to these incredible mamas!

This year I have now focused on growing this brand collaborating with ultrasound companies across the country, and hope to deliver products that will be cherished forever by every mama and their babies.
